Some of these things disappeared.
Some remained.
And some still seem to look at us as if they know something about the future we never got to see.
Maybe the future was simply running late.
Or took the wrong turn.
Once, this was the future.
We imagined it differently: little machines, strange devices, pocket-sized screens and buttons whose purpose only their creators truly understood.
